When I am using Craft, I tend to use it mostly on either my iPhone or my iPad. This is a testament to their beautiful UI. I use Craft a lot for writing. It is where I enjoy to write. There are times where I want to quickly jump into a folder I have in Craft. A way I use this is by quickly jumping into my blogging folder. This way, when I am in my writing mode, I can go directly into that folder and begin working on a blog post. To get into a folder quickly on mobile isn’t really the easiest at times. This is where the Mac application comes into play for me.

To achieve this, I use the Mac application for Craft and Shortcuts. First, I navigate to the folder that I want to have quick access to. In this example, I want to have access to my Blog Posts folder. Once I am there in Craft on my Mac, there is a hidden gem that is not accessible on the iOS version. Deep-links. These allow direct access to things in the Mac platform. In this case, we are going to use it to quickly access a folder. I am now going to right-click on my folder and choose the option to “copy deep-link”. This is going to save the deep-link to our clipboard so we can use it for step two: setting up our shortcut.

Right click on folder to copy the deep-link to the folder.

In shortcuts on Mac, I am going to create a new shortcut. Once it is created, I am going to choose the “open url” action. Once the action is added, copy the deep-link to the Craft folder we copied in our previous step.

Paste deep-link from Craft folder into shortcuts action.

Now, from my iPhone, I can swipe down on my widget stack on my home screen, tap on my writing shortcut, and am instantly in my Blog Posts folder.

Utilizing shortcuts widget, I can now quickly access a folder in Craft.
